Cooking with a Mother Fire

I am working on an article about using what I call a Mother Fire when cooking over wood using a Tuscan grill in a fireplace.

Here is the fire ablaze.  The idea is that when the embers die down under the grill, you take fresh coals from the timbers burning in the left side of the fireplace.
